Photography has been a major force in my life for more than 50 years. It has provided the opportunity for travel and to document what I have seen. The camera has opened doors and provided access to places that would normally be closed. It has introduced me to people from all walks of life who always have interesting and amazing stories to tell. I have been blessed with many opportunities to view and appreciate the beauty of our world. I want people to see what I have been fortunate to see.
In my work I combine a passion for photography and the creative possibilities provided by digital imaging software. The subject matter is as diverse as the world in which we live. I strive to create images that people can make a connection with; images that seem familiar while at the same time new. I want my photographs to evoke an emotion; or an experience from ones own life. The images are a combination of what is found in either nature or the man-made world and those found only in my imagination. Many of the images are the result of experimenting with camera settings or the seemingly endless choices provided by various imaging software. Often the images are the result of layering multiple components together to evoke memories of past experiences or altered realities.
